Details:
Our Intro to Freediving experience is a fun, hands-on way to discover what the sport is all about—no certification, no pressure, just the thrill of learning something new. Over the course of the session, you’ll get a taste of freediver training as we explore the history of the sport, why it’s so captivating, and how the right gear helps you glide effortlessly beneath the surface. We’ll talk about the underwater environment, the fascinating physics and physiology behind holding your breath, and how to stay safe while doing it. Then it’s into the water, where you’ll try your first freediving skills and see just how far a single breath can take you. Perfect for individuals, groups, or even as a unique team-building challenge, this course is open to anyone comfortable in the water—ages 16 and up, or as young as 10 with a parent or guardian.
Very Important Information About This Course:
I just became a freediving instructor — and I’ve never taught a freediving course before. That’s exactly why I’m offering this one for free. I don’t feel like I’ve earned the right to charge for it yet, and I believe the best way to become a great instructor is to spend time in the water, working with real people, and learning as I go.
In scuba, I’ve seen too many instructors finish their certification and start teaching everything right away, without putting in the hours to really understand how to teach well. It’s frustrating to watch — and I don’t want to be that person. When I became a strong scuba diver, it wasn’t from occasional dives. It was from teaching six days a week, building experience one dive at a time, until it became second nature. I want to bring that same dedication to freediving.
This course is an invitation to join me on that journey. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a water lover looking for a new challenge, or someone who wants to conquer that voice in your head telling you to breathe, freediving offers something unique. Scuba lets me explore and see the world underwater. Freediving is different — it’s about willpower versus instinct, calm versus urgency. And I want to share that experience, build my skills the right way, and grow a community of people who love the water as much as I do.
What To Bring:
Bring your swimsuit, a towel, something warm to change into after the dives; if you have a mask, fins, or goggles bring them as well! You don't need to have freediving equipment for this course!
When you arrive, look for the group with the scuba equipment — that’s us! Just walk over and we will take care of it from there!
Additional Sessions:
Your first class is completely free—no strings attached. If you’d like to keep coming back to practice and improve, drop-in sessions are available for just $15 per visit. You can book those here (we will add the link in a bit).
